I have been busy learning Final Cut Pro X and have successfully uploaded my first video after editing in this new environment. I still have a lot to learn, but I can see that it is a wonderful piece of software. Maybe it’s because I have already done some video editing work, but I did not find it hard to get started.
Anyway, the reason for this post is to show you a card I made for a swap on Swap Bot and the video shows you how I used an image from the Silhouette on-line store, adapted it to suit my needs to make my card.
Here is the final result.
You can watch my video below. Note that this video only shows you some very basic functions for changing shapes. I will post more advanced functions in the future.
Changing images in Silhouette Studio
I have a number of these types of frames and have been wanting to decorate them with pictures, papers and cuts for various holidays and events so I am happy to get this first one done.
The spiders, candelabra, cat, tombstones and the word “spooky” were cut with my Silhouette Cameo. The witch, skull & crossbones and “you put a spell on me” stickers are from Authentique. The papers (except the purple one) are from Stampin Up. The purple paper is from SEI. The pumpkin die cut is also from SEI.
The photo is my daughter and her friend about 10 years ago.
I decided to modify my file for customizing the control panel on my Cameo to include two little holes so that the power and pause lights show through.

I have been wanting to make a “drummers rock” sign out of vinyl for my bumper for the longest time. Well, I finally got it done and I was able to make some good looking drumsticks by tracing a JPG file with one stick, editing it so the lines were straight and everything looked right and then copying it and rotating it to have two sticks.
The text and sticks were cut with my Silhouette Cameo.
The weather will have to get a bit better before I can put it on my car, but it will look very nice. My car is a white 2-door Honda Civic. I will post a picture once I put it on my car.
I will put the sticks on the left side of the text.
I just put it on my car! You can see where I wiped away the dirt. It’s such a gorgeous day and all the snow is melting so I couldn’t resist.
Now that we have an “empty nest”, after thoroughly enjoying sleeping in whenever we wanted and not being tied to doing anything for someone else, we decided to get a puppy. It was like having a new baby in the house. We were sleep-deprived for a few months and noticed that we were yawning an awful lot.
Well, Percy grabbed our hearts and we can’t imagine life without him now.
At 7 months, we had him neutered and he had to wear that awful cone for two long weeks. He got used to it and didn’t seem to mind after a couple of days, but we just couldn’t wait until he could take it off. He was just as adorable with the cone!!
I cut the bookends (THIS BOY) and the “7 months” frame with my Silhouette Cameo. The cuts are from the Silhouette store. The @ symbol was also cut with my Cameo, but it was just a font on my computer.
The font I used for my computer journaling is Annie BTN.
